Setmana Catalana race leader’s jersey

Description
Setmana Catalana race leader’s jersey
It was ‘Setmana Catalana di Ciclisimo’ in Catalan, ‘Catalan Cycling Week’ in English, a week- long stage race held on the roads of the Spanish province of Catalonia from 1963 until 2005. It was a 2.HC race on the UCI World Tour, and its end-of-March place on the calendar is occupied no by Spain’s oldest stage race, the Volta a Catalunya. This is its leader’s jersey.
We don’t know who wore it, or in which year, but it’s a rare jersey and a wonderful example of Spanish race organisers’ practice of placing the sponsor’s name low down on the front of jerseys that are presented on podiums. It’s clever thinking, because placing the sponsor’s name high up means it’s often obscured by bouquets of flowers, trophies and other mementos, and might not show up in photos or on TV.
Another great and very interesting addition to your jersey collection, a real talking point.
