Renault-Elf team jersey signed by Lucien Van Impe

Description
Renault-Elf team jersey signed by six times King of the Mountains Lucien Van Impe
A unique jersey that would look great in a frame and hung on any wall, especially if you are an admirer of Lucien Van Impe, one of the greatest mountain climbers ever. Van Impe is the last Belgian ever to win the Tour de France.
His victory in 1976 was achieved with one epic attack in the mountains, when he just left the rest behind and virtually won the Tour in a day. The best climbers can do that. It was how Charly Gaul won and Marco Pantani won the Tour de France.
Van Impe didn’t ride for the Renault-Elf team, which used Gitane bikes, but was riding a Gitane when he won the Tour as part of Renault-Elf’s predecessor, a team called Gitane-Campagnol. Both teams were managed by Cyrille Guimard.
This jersey was signed by Van Impe when he came to the UK in 1998 to open the small Tom Simpson museum in Harworth in North Nottinghamshire.
